Stetson Engineers developed a regional groundwater model to evaluate impacts from proposed potential water management options for the Soboba Indian Reservation, near San Jacinto in Riverside County, California.
A numerical ground and surface water flow model of a stream dominated alluvial basin will be used to account for stream/groundwater interactions, artificial recharge, regional water supply planning, groundwater basin management evaluation, conjunctive use water development, water rights, ground and surface water interaction, basin yield, and water rights negotiations and litigation support. This basin contains a complex of fault compartments with varying degrees of interconnection that influence the flow of groundwater throughout the basin. Stetson participates as the groundwater expert for the federal interests on the Technical Committee. The project also involves analysis of previous groundwater models and peer review of concurrent modeling efforts by others.
